We’ve seen videos of layouts before from the viewing angle of a engineer, but Bob Wundrock’s perspective is unique in that he has a graphic overlay of what an engineer would actually be seeing!
This made us think, with the explosion of FPV (or First Person View) in the drone / quadcopter market, how could we merge this technology with our model railroads? Instead of merely “running” our trains around the layout, what if we were to actually put an FPV camera in our locomotives and DRIVE our trains?! We already have realistic LED lighting and controls so that you actually have to pay attention to speed restrictions, lights, and crossings. An interesting concept that we’d like to see more of!
